Coaches Program

Water Ski & Wakeboard BC provides Coaches clinics in the spring time of each year to upgrade and or introduce members to the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). 

NCCP workshops are designed to meet the needs of all types of coaches — from the first-time coach to the head coach of a national team. As part of the program, all coaches are trained in ethical decision-making and sport safety.

WSWBC currently offers these coaching courses in partnership with the NCCP and WSWC. A list of courses currently being offered is below. If you are interested in becoming a certified coach and the courses below do not meet your needs contact

Coach Remuneration

  • Jr. Coach: Foundations Trained – $150.00 per day
  • Build the Skills Trained – $300.00 per day
  • Learn to Compete Trained – $600.00 per day
  • Elite Pro Trained – $900.00 per day




Foundations & Adaptive Coaching Course @ West Vancouver Community Center
Mar 4 – Mar 5 all-day

Towed water sport essentials are the focus of this two day clinic, with an emphasis placed on safety, fun, ethics, boat driving, and values beyond competition. This clinic will help camps, schools, and volunteer coaches foster love of the sport, promote participation, and teach basic skills to beginners of all ages through a variety of activities and disciplines.

Coaches that complete this course, occupational first aid and have a valid boat operations card will be Foundations Trained. This is the minimum requirement to work for a WSWC insured water ski or wakeboard school.

Cost: This course will be used to train coach developers in addition to coaches. For this reason the course will be offered to a maximum of 10 participants at no cost. A $200 deposit is required. After successfully completing the course, first aid and boat operators card the deposit will be refunded.

Schedule: The course will run 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Saturday and 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Sunday.
